Logo and identity, website, promotional video, posters, t-shirts.
Studio Zodus was approached to develop the branding and logo design for the very first obstacle course run in Maastricht, called 'Battle of Maestricht'.
We strived to come up with a distinctive and powerful brand appearance. A strong and challenging look and feel, that would give it a certain appeal for a sport venue of this nature. The combination of type, colour and photography would bring it alive and give it a unique looking quality.
The A in the logo has a symbolic reference to the swords of the famous Three Musketeers. This because of the fact that the most famous of these musketeers, 'D'Artagnan' died on the battlefield during the siege on Maastricht in 1673. Their motto 'all for one, one for all' also became the slogan for this new OCR event in Maastricht.
We knew beforehand that a well designed identity would become important in launching this event in Maastricht. Studio Zodus proposed several designs that made it hard to choose from. In the end, we were most convinced by the most simple and stylish identity. The combination of this logo with the 'All for one, and one for all' motto was very much to our liking. This identity put the spotlight on this event with the right amount of expactations and correct 'feel' we were looking for.
